We took the kids trick or treating around mom and dad's house and after to the church for some games and more candy on Halloween. The kids were troopers and did very well. The girls were cute Garden gnomes and Noah Batman.

Little Helpers

Eve and Lily helped me today with planting wildflower bulbs in the yard while Noah was at school. They were so cute, they helped me the whole time. Their job was to pass me bulbs from the bucket. There was a few spills but they did awesome. When they got tired they plopped down together on the hill and it was so adorable, I had to go get the camera.
I sure hope that these bulbs make it in the spring, I think they will look neat on the edges of the yard. I will blog about them in the Spring.

Sunday Walk

Yesterday Noah, Ethan, J and I went on a hike up the hill behind our house. It was actually really cool. We found lots of bones, mushrooms and nice views. It took us an hour to go up across to the west and down. The boys loved the half way pit stop on "Chocolate Bar Log" as it is now know at our house.

Vancouver weddding

We had a trip to Vancouver this weekend for Julie's cousin Liz's wedding. It was a nice time away and a beautiful wedding. Julie was in the wedding party and i had the duty of videoing the ceremony. We had some nice weather and even went for a few walks around downtown, did some shopping and soaked in the pool and hot tub at the hotel. Good time.

At the Slovenian Picnic this year, someone had the brilliant idea to take a picture of all the Novak kids there. It wasn't as bad as you may think. All the kids ran in the picture and stood relatively still. And we decided to take a twin picture, only Julie's twin uncles are missing.

Fishing Trip 2011

We had a great time fishing this year. We caught the largest Halibut and Salmon for this year on the boat. Everyone's cameras loaded up with shots of whales and eagles. The ocean was calm for most of our trip, but we still had some people get sick on the zodiac. The food by Chef Cody was incredible.

The hot springs, laughing, puking, eating, fishing, funny discussions, Trini Lopez, whales, calm ocean, and eagles are just some things that describe our trip. It was a trip of a life time. Thanks everyone who came and made it great. :-)

Poor Lily

As you can see Lily's black fly bite has healed nicely on her right eye. Poor girl woke up with another bite on her left eye. We might just keep her indoors all summer.

First family camping trip

What went wrong this weekend.. Cut on the finger that required stitches at PG emergency, Julie alone at the campsite with all 3 kids for 5 hours, bug bites all over us, Lily got a nasty black fly bite, forgot it was fathers day and no sleep because mosquitos got in the trailer through a cracked screen.

Even though all this happened, it was still fun and we can not wait to take the trailer out again.

Canucks Stanley Cup Final Game 1

What is there to say about game one. I will leave it at incredible. What a great experience from the pre game festivities, Oh Canada, THE GAME, the last 18 seconds was crazy. After the game we went to Granville St to take in the party. There were so many people there, lots of high fives, cheering, honking, hugging and fun.

Spring Fun

Spring has sprung and the kids are loving to go outside all the time. The girls love ripping on their new quads and Noah got a new bike that he calls "speedy bike". We had Josh and Ethan over for a sleep over on the long weekend and they played in the hot tub for 2 hours. They looked like old wrinkled men when they came out.

We just got back from a 9 day trip to Maui. We took Noah and had a great time. He got some added attention that he does not usually get at home when his sisters are around. The weather was sunny for most of our trip and rained our last 2 days. We enjoyed the beach, pools, making sand castles, waterslides, aquarium, a luau, a production show called ulalena, snorkeling, shopping, submarine ride and some good and some not so good dinners. We are moving

We bought a house and are moving this summer. It is near Julie's mom's house and brothers house. Weirdly enough there are 3 other sets of twins in the area. We will miss College Heights but look forward to the privacy of this house. We can not wait to move.

Eve and Lily's church dedication

The girls had their church dedication today and all our kids behaved very well for it. We celebrated after with a good lunch at fortune palace with family and friends. The girls were wiped out after all the action and had a good nap when we got home.

Skating

Noah is now in skating once a week on Sundays. He LOVES it. He was standing up on his own at the first session and by the second he got up and took about a dozen steps on his own.
He talks about Hockey quite a bit now. Oh boy we can't wait for those 6am weekend practices...

Winter fun

Long time no blog.
Since Christmas we have not been up to much other than trying to enjoy winter and get out of the house and beat the winter blahs.
Cross country skiing is our thing. We try to go at least once a week and we tow the kids behind us in Chariots that were donated to us from the Leboe's and the Costley's, Thanks guys. It is nice to get out and get some exercise and the kids love getting towed by mom and dad and Grandpa once too.

Yesterday we had a very nice photo shoot with Dezene. It was quick and fun and all the kids were well behaved. OK it took some Halloween treats to entice Noah to be on his best behavior :) The pictures turned out great and we are very happy with them!

Halloween was a busy one this year but it was a fun one. Noah was very excited about his Buzz costume and didn't need any help trick or treating around the neighborhood, he figured the concept out quite fast. This was the girls first first Halloween and they had fun too, mostly just hanging around looking really cute.

On the weekend Curtis, Brad, Jim, Jake, Moose and I went to Seattle for an awesome time at the Seahawks vs Giants game. The weekend consisted mostly of driving (while eating junk food), eating steak, eating tube steaks... mostly just avoiding healthy food altogether. Jim and Jake had a Gyro before 9am. BRAVO! As evident we met some new friends of various shapes and sizes.
It was such a blast it would be great to make this a yearly tradition.

We went to Las Vegas and enjoyed our time with no kids, some good dinners and 4 shows. We saw Phantom the Las vegas spectacular, Lion King, Viva Elvis and Mystere. Julie won a jackpot on a Wheel of Fortune slot and we were way up... and then she discovered the premium outlet shopping mall.

Noah's 3rd Birthday Party

We celebrated Noah's 3rd birthday at Noah's Ark Adventure Farm. It was the perfect Fall day for the kids to run around the farm, go on the swing, ride the horse and feed the animals.

Noah Goes to School

On Thursday Noah had his first day of Pre-school. He loved it and can't wait to go back for more. Noah is also doing swimming lessons on Monday and Wednedays and he thinks that is also very cool.
As you can see from the pictures the girls are also making milestones. They love cruising on their ride on's (with Mom pushing of course) and they are crawling and pulling up like crazy now.

Pig Roast

Every year Julie's brothers and sister host a Pig Roast. They invite most of their friends and their families to the cabin.
This is our third weekend in a row at the cabin and this time we were childless and had a lot of time socializing and really doing whatever we felt like it. Sometimes we, mostly Julie, even got bored. It was another beautiful time at the lake with awesome weather.
The story behind the picture of Holden, our nephew, with the frog is quite sad. Let's just say the frog didn't make it....

Slovenian Picnic

This year the Slovenian picnic was a success. The weather was great, many people came, our kids were good, played some volleyball, and ate some good food. This was our second weekend at our cabin at 10 mile lake and we definitely never got tired of it. Well maybe a little tired of dragging the twins stroller around all the time.

Vancouver 2010

We just arrived home from our week long adventure down to Vancouver and it was a blast. There was never a dull moment at the Breedveld's house with 5 kids squawking all the time. We had some great meals, great weather, fun times at the Zoo, Aquarium,Science World, Robson Street, Metro Town, Coal Harbour, Yale Town, Ikea, Centennial Beach, visiting old friends etc... basically we fit all we could into the week and it was a great time. By the second day we got there we busted our point and shoot camera. I must st say that its last shot was a doozie, it was of Uncle Brad lining up a head shot on Noah with the water cannon at the local spray park. Yes Brad, this picture will be used against you.
A big shout out to Brad and Carolyne for letting us stay with them for the whole week, that is a big commitment.

We are enjoying nice spring weather and the whole family is loving it. Noah is loving his custom water slide and yes he has been doing the Ethan Costley "Speedee Bum" special and he thinks it is great. The girls have also enjoyed the pool and all the outside time that they have been getting.

It has been a while since we last posted so I thought it would be good to throw some random pics up. The girls are starting to eat real food and they are getting so big and their personalities are really starting to come out. Noah is doing well, he is loving the twins and is quite the funny little boy. He especially liked coming to the mill and going for a ride in the Bobcat. There is not too much going on these days in our life. Julie is going to Edmonton this weekend with her mom and sisters and then we are going to pack up the kids in July and visit the Breedvelds and Kelowna.

Olympic Trip

Here are some pictures from our spur of the moment trip to the Olympics. We decided Sunday night to head to Van and flew out on Tuesday morning at 7am with Frances and Chris. We had a great time catching the spectacle of the games and taking in all the sights and sounds.
It will be sad when it is all over, but there will always be another Olympics, Sochi 2014 anyone? My one regret... I didn't get a picture with the true stars of the game, Quatchi, Sumi, Miga and Muk Muk.

We are full on loving the Vancouver Olympics. What a crazy hockey game tonight against the Swiss. I love to see the Swiss win except when they are playing us. Noah is loving his Olympic mascots, he has to go to bed each night with all four in his bed with him.

Back in PG

After spending a fun 3 weeks down in Vancouver with the Breedveld's I got back to PG and back to the usual... The kids changes lots when I was away. The girls are smiling way more and getting chubby and Noah started singing songs such as his ABC's, Twinkle Twinkle and Running Over.

We have been enjoying the warm weather here in PG and we wonder if this will keep up for the rest of winter or if we will be able to cross country ski or skate this before spring comes. Twins and a 2 year old make these things so much harder then in the past.
Not much planned for the near future (other than watching lots of Olympics). In the middle of March we will do a Naegeli family ski trip to Big White and that will be a fun time in the condo and on the slopes.

New Years in Big White

After a great Christmas in PG we decided to hit the road and go for a road trip to Big white for New Years. This was the girls first road trip and they did great. Noah tried skiing for about 3 minutes and that did not go too well, but that night he tried tubing and loved it, we went 5 times on the tube ride. All together it was a fun trip and it was nice to get down there and see the new renovations to the condo that we did in the summer.

Joe's Wreath

On Thursday my mill manager Randy came to me and said that he wanted to do something special in memory of Julie's dad Joe. He told me that we were going to make a wreath to hang on the mill. As you can see, it was not any ordinary wreath. 8ft in diameter, 100 light bulbs, 8 red bows, 3 bags of Ponderosa Pine cones, Hunreds of Blue Spruce boughs and 1 custom made light up box with Joe's name. There was four of us who made the wreath with help from our fabricators to make the frame and hang it up. It turned out awesome considering we planned it Thursday night and had it hanging by 2:00pm on Friday.

This was Noah's 3rd go at Halloween. There were some real high and low points for the little guy. The group picture at Julie's cousin's house got the best of him. I love the look that he is getting from Paige in the close up of him crying. A real high point for Noah was trick or treating at Grandma and Grandpa's house. Props to dad, he grew that pumpkin that he has on his lap.
The night was ended off with fireworks at the Costley's house and then back home. A long but fun day.

We got Noah this play kitchen for his 2nd birthday. Daddy stayed up until 3am last night putting it together and Noah was a happy boy when he saw it in the morning. He has not stopped playing with it all morning. So far his best meals have been "heiss" soup and "big" eggs.

With the twins coming soon we hope he can start helping us cook for real.

It is hard to believe our little boy is 2 years old already! Noah had a party with all his cousins and some friends at Exploration place. It was nice to have all the kids run around and play there instead of our house. Noah has too many cousins to have them all over at one time! Now that he is 2 we have some new challenges ahead of us..Noah's potty training, new babies arriving soon, soother & blanky (which is almost destroyed), getting his temper tantrums under control, and teaching him how to ski.

This years trip on the Rosemary-T was incredible. We caught 107 Coho, 4 Halibut, 36 Red Snappers and over 90 Crabs. My guests on the boat were Andrew Mulroy (aka: the crane and tamed gorilla, as given by Julie's Uncle Tony) and my Dad George. We had a great time with everyone and the weather was perfect. This trip is up there as one of the all round best.

Noah is now into a big boy bed. The first night we tried to get him into it was a disaster and he let us know, with enthusiasm . The next night Grandma Naegeli put him down and he went down really well. He woke up twice one time kneeling on the floor with his head on the bed while asking for "su-su". Tonight, I just home from soccer and he is snoozing away. Way to go Noah!

We have two cocktail cucumber hanging baskets and Noah and I have made a tradition to go grab one each when I come home from work. They are just the perfect size for the little cucumber monster. A special thanks to Brad B for providing the seeds and Jos at Art Knapps for starting them for us. The cocktail cuc's are a big hit and we will love them all summer and will for sure get them again next year.

On the weekend Noah wanted to go into his old baby swing that we just got back from the Costley's. I let him in it, he was so heavy the motor on the swing couldn't even get the swing going, but he liked it all the same. The problem came when I took him out as you can see in the picture below. He cooled his jets after a while but, the swing is going into hiding now and the potty is going to come out! Auntie Geck and Uncle Brad, please note that Noah has had his first hair cut. We think he looks more like Mike now, and he reminds us of Joel when he got his first hair cut.

Another Purden Trip

On the weekend we went to the cabin with Mom and Dad. We had a nice dinner together and had some rousing games of Triominos. The skiing was really nice and Julie had a good time on her new board and with her radical boarder chick friends (Tika and Lindsey) that she totally shredded with...(that's how boarder talk right?). By the looks of it, Dad is pretty serious about riding on chair lifts. Just kidding around dad, I think you didn't even know I was taking that one. Hopefully we will be able to make it out to the cabin (or the oven as Jim calls it) one more time this season.

Cross Country Skiing

Julie was trying out her new snowboard at Tabor today so Noah and I went skiing at Mud River with Mom, Dad, Josh, Hannah, Ethan, Hans and Isabelle. It was such a nice day with the beautiful sunshine and the great skiing. I rigged up some rope and carabiners hooked it up to my beltloops and towed Noah behind me in his little sled, what a workout that was. Props to the kids, they led the way the whole time.
After the ski we checked out some of the farm animals and Noah loved them while making animal noises as he saw them.

First Ski Trip of the Year

On Saturday evening Jim, Jules and I travelled out to Purden for a very nice little ski trip. We had a nice dinner, watched a few flicks, Mamma Mia was one and Jim loved it!!! We also played a couple of rousing games of Pirates Cove. The skiing was fantastic, the sun was shining bright all day and the snow was actually quite good. We hope to do a couple more trips this winter and the cabin can sleep 7 more than what we had in it this weekend, so think about it...

Julie and I went to the annual Ducks Unlimited fund raiser and we came out with quite a haul. Julie won the cedar wagon for Noah, and I won the mini camo chair for Noah and a Robert Bateman print. We also got a thermometer and a case of playing cards for coming. If you ever get the chance go check out a Ducks fund raiser. It is sweet, one evening and we have Noah's Christmas shopping all done, he is going to love that print...haha.

Halloween

This Halloween we had a good time. Julie took Noah to her parents house where all the Novak kids met up and exchanged candy. They were all dressed up and had a lot of fun. Later we had about 130 trick or treaters come to our house. Noah went trick or treating to a few houses in our area, just the people we know. After we had a fantastic view of the college heights fireworks at Jim and Monica's. Noah was scared of the loud noise so Julie hung out in the house with him. Oh ya and Noah was a cool Meercat!

Cherry Tree (this post is mostly for Dezene)

This was our Evan's Cherry tree this summer. It was it's second summer with us and it produced a great harvest for all. It is very hardy and produces scrumptious little morsals to snack on throughout July and August. They also make great jam and pies.

Over the weekend we went to Vegas with Frances and Chris. We had a great time and had a nice stay at our hotel, the Bellagio (second picture down) . We saw 2 Cirque du Soleil shows, Love and Ka and another show called le Reve. Another sweet show we saw was at Treasure Island called Sirens of TI. Check it out on Youtube if you dare (note, we did not pay to see this show). It wasn't that good, actually it sucked but it did make us laugh lots. Some other things we did were, walking, shopping, Frances and Julie got addicted to gambling (bad girls), got hot in 41 degree weather and we ate some good meals.

Same time same place (maybe a different hotel) next year... everyone's invited.

Berry Picking

Noah went on his second berry picking trip and had a great time with his cousins. Auntie Frances and Uncle Chris found a great patch for blueberries and we got a good haul for the winter.

Well, we just got back from another great trip up the Douglas Channel and it was a great time had by all. On this trip the fishing wasn't spectacular 3 halibut, 1 snapper, 2 lings and 5 salmon, but... when one of those salmon is a 65 lb spring it makes the trip way better. Jules dad Joe caught the big spring and it is a record for the 27 years they have run a boat up to Kitimat. Along on the trip were Julies parents, her sister and family, Karmen (rob's sister in law) and Ludvik (robs brother in law) and his wife Natasha. Noah was great on the boat and thank God he holds down his food better than his dad. Man, crepes with raspberry sauce taste way better going down than coming up and out...far ... into the Pacific. Why do I put my self through this humiliation every year with the puking. Just say no to the Zodiac Mike.

I know it is good if your pets are defensive of their homes but sometimes Kona takes it a bit too far. There was a cat out the window that was taunting Kona pretty bad and she hated it as you can tell. This went on for several minutes before I put and end to it fearing that Kona would hurt herself trying to go through the window. Sorry about the poor shot, my night shot is on the fritz.

Noah and I went to the Dunkley Picnic on Saturday. The weather was nice and the food was great. With Julie out of town it was tough taking care of the little dude all day... Now I know why she wants me to take him when I get home from work :) At the fish pond Noah caught some bathtime toys that he will love and I got a prize for being on the #1 volley ball team in the annual tournament, a fun time for sure but better if mom was around.

Night time ritual

This has pretty much become a daily occurrence before we put Noah down for the night, he gets hyper bounces around, does a few laps and then hits the hay. I don't get him going to well, but if you wait till near the end Julie gets him laughing pretty hard.

On Friday Dad and I went to the Woodlot and did some roadside and slope seeding , tree bucking and quad romping. We are sorry about the delay between blogs, we hope you don't boot us from the blogging fraternity. Here are some pics of Noah doing his baby thing. He is just starting to get used to his Jolly Jumper as you can see. Noah loves cruising in his red 1998 convertible Chevy Cavalier, just look at that smile. In January Noah hung out on his jungle gym with his new friends Halle and Tanner, they had a great time.
This weekend we are taking Noah on his first trip out of PG city limits. We are going to go Big White for a whole week with Grandma, Grampa, the Costley's, Breedvelds and the Heide's (expect Big White pics in July). After Big White I'm (mike) going to Vancouver for schooling for 3 weeks where I will be starting my Parts man apprenticeship. It will be tough to be away from Julie and Noah for that long.
Anyway, we hope you enjoyed these pics and we will try to get more up sooner than the time between this one and the last.

Baby Noah

Born Friday September 28th at 11:20am, baby Noah has opened a new chapter of our lives and he is such a perfect little addition to our family. He was 7lbs 2oz and was 19.5 inches and was a great surprise to his mommy who thought he was a girl the whole pregnancy.
Thank God for our little blessing Noah Michael Naegeli.

Well, another successful run on the Rosemary T was had this week. Julie allowed me to slip away for the week to bring home some bounty from the sea. We didn't haul any monsters out but we managed to bring in 130 fish including, Coho, Spring, Halibut, Ling cod, Red Snappers, Flounder and Rock Cod. Sorry there are no pics of our Hali's but uncle Tony had there heads off and gutted before they could say cheese.
Along our travels on the north coast we saw Sea Lions, Humpbacks and Killer Whales. The weather was great and the times were fun, can't wait for next year with baby...

Soccer Saturday!!!!

Before I even start, Ethan's hair was not my idea Geck! I wanted to use a guard.

The FIFA under 6/under 40 World Cup commenced under beautiful conditions at Torchlight Stadium on Chartwell Crescent. A close match was played, however the Timbits squad led by the brilliant play of Josh Leboe, Ethan Costley and superb goal tending by Swiss national, George Naegeli was able to defeat the very strong side of Jim Costley, Chris Leboe and Michael Naegeli.
A special thanks to Maren Costley for playing on both teams, when she felt like it... to Monica Costley for catching the action on camera and to the girls for their great cheerleading, which sounded mostly like this... "Chris, it's 9 oclock., we have to go, Joshy needs a bath!!"
The next match will be played at Trent Stadium, date to be announced. New players welcome.
PS: Someone forgot their so sweet white socks at my house.

Kona was hunting up a storm this evening and was almost succesful on a few occasions. She will need a little more practice to get up to par. She is kind of hard to see in the 1st pic but she is there and within 1 1/2 feet of that bird on the light.
